Johannes Hammers

Award winning composer and sound designer, Johannes Hammers has worked across a diverse and eclectic range of media, including film, television, game audio, commercials and VR.

The ability to do both sound and music has enabled Johannes to craft a unique sound that "allows me to create a complete sonic landscape that tells a story and conveys an emotion as one cohesive idea." It often makes for a seamless blend between the two crafts.

2019 was a busy year, completing the sound design through Warner Bros for “The Confession Tapes” and “Exhibit A” (produced by A24 for Netflix) and continuing with independent feature work for “Don’t Tell A Soul” and “The Boy Behind the Door” both psychological thrillers and rounding things out with the feature documentary “Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator” for director Eva Orner.

After joining Sony Interactive Entertainment as a sound designer in October 2019, Johannes became full time employee at Insomniac Games in October 2020, and was on the audio team for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales where he designed the in-game audio for the finishers and Venom effects and also contributed sound design for the announcement, gameplay and release trailers.

Clients include Warner Brothers, Netflix, Formosa Interactive Group, A24, Western Remedy, Technicolor, Psyop, AMC Theaters, Audi, Energizer, Nissan, Playstation, Mercedes, Coca-Cola, T-Mobile, Nike, Cadillac, Activision, Smirnoff, KIA, Reebok, RIOT Games, Chrysler and Toyota among others.

Johannes’ music has also been featured on Key & Peele, 20/20 on ABC, MTV’s Catfish: The TV Show, Unusual Suspects, Man Seeking Woman, Consumed: The Real Restaurant Business, Murder Among Friends, ABC’s The Toy Box, and CBS Promo’s for: Big Bang Theory, CSI, NCIS, The Good Wife, Late Night with David Letterman, The Mentalist, Scorpion, Mike and Molly, and Two Broke Girls.

Johannes is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University's School of Film and Television and a member of ASCAP, the Motion Picture Editors Guild, Motion Picture Sound Editors, and the American Federation of Musicians Local 47.
