Johannes Hammers, Hammers Project
Independent creative director, composer and sound designer, Johannes Hammers got his start by composing music for his own experimental short films in high school and college. After graduating from Loyola Marymount University, Johannes began a successful career in advertising. The high level of creativity and musical opportunities in this field allowed Johannes to hone his skills composing across many musical genres and developing his own sound design style.
The ability to do both sound design and music has enabled Hammers to craft a unique sound and has allowed him to collaborate with composers as well as sound designers. “Being able to do both sound and music has been very beneficial – it allows me to create a complete sonic landscape that tells a story and conveys an emotion as one cohesive idea.”
Most recently Johannes has joined Technicolor working with an immersive audio team that has the flexibility and capacity to work on Features, TV, VR/AR, and Games.
Clients include Technicolor, Formosa Interactive Group, Psyop, AMC Theaters, Audi, Energizer, Nissan, Playstation, Mercedes, Coca-Cola, T-Mobile, Nike, Cadillac, Activision, Smirnoff, KIA, Reebok, RIOT Games, Chrysler and Toyota among others.
Johannes’ music has also been featured in MTV’s Catfish: The TV Show, Unusual Suspects, Key & Peele, Man Seeking Woman, Consumed: The Real Restaurant Business, Treehouse Masters, Murder Among Friends, ABC’s The Toy Box, and CBS Promo’s for: Big Bang Theory, CSI, NCIS, The Good Wife, Late Night with David Letterman, The Mentalist, Scorpion, Mike and Molly, and Two Broke Girls.
Johannes is a member of ASCAP, the Motion Picture Editors Guild, Motion Picture Sound Editors, and the American Federation of Musicians Local 47.
